Smyly progressed to throwing drills Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Times reports. Smyly performed a drill where he threw a ball in a sock as he continues to work back from tendinitis in his throwing shoulder. He's without a firm return date at this point, and his status for Opening Day could be in jeopardy.
