Rivera is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox, 620 WDAE's Steve Carney reports. Following an off day, Curt Casali will make a second straight start behind the plate. The Rays don't value Rivera for his offense, but he's been so bad in the batter's box that the team may start giving Casali more playing time, although it wouldn't necessarily be an upgrade. With a .162/.203/.262 slash line through 205 plate appearances, Rivera hasn't been able to build on his surprisingly strong finish to last season.
