Ramirez was torched for seven runs on six hits, walking three and striking out two over two innings of relief work in a loss to Miami on Friday night. The recently acquired Ramirez was considered a possibility to step into this spot in the rotation, but the Rays opted to make it a bullpen game, starting reliever Steve Geltz and using eight different pitchers. Tonight's performance could have eliminated Ramirez for consideration, and in any event, it would probably be wise for fantasy owners to avoid this slot in the Tampa Bay rotation.
