Pirates acquired RHP Vin Mazzaro and 1B Clint Robinson from the Royals for LHP Luis Rico and RHP Luis Santos. Mazzaro was one of many players who were designated for assignment by the Royals last week. The 26-year-old right-hander owns posted a 5.73 ERA and 26/19 K/BB ratio over 44 innings this season and is unlikely to make a big impact with Pittsburgh.
