Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro, Jr. indicated Friday that Chase Utley will likely stay at second base.
Utley has worked out at third base recently, but Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said Friday that he's unlikely to play there in a game before the end of the season. And based on what Amaro said, it may not happen in 2013, either. "After further review, it probably makes the most sense to keep Chase at second base and go from there," said Amaro. Barring a change of heart, the Phillies figure to be in the market for a third baseman this winter.
