Martin will be out of the lineup for Friday's game in Tampa Bay, John Lott of the National Post reports. The Jays have been using Martin to catch R.A. Dickey, but with Dioner Navarro (hamstring) hitting the disabled list, Josh Thole is now on the 25-man roster. While Thole has far more experience handling Dickey and will get the start Friday, manager John Gibbons said Martin may still have opportunities to catch the knuckle-baller. Martin figures to rejoin the lineup for games on Saturday and Sunday.
