Manager Bruce Bochy said Monday that Romo (forearm) is scheduled to play catch Friday, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Diagnosed with a flexor strain, Romo was been a resident on the disabled list since April 14. While he's drawing close to his first possible return date, Bochy added that Romo is farther from his activation than George Kontos (elbow), who won't come back for "probably another two weeks," according to John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle. Thus, Hunter Strickland will continue to cover the primary setup role for Santiago Casilla.
