Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports that the Yankees and Mariano Rivera have agreed to a one-year, $10 million contract.
Heyman says the deal will also include incentives that could push the total higher. Once Rivera informed the Yankees earlier this month that he planned to return for 2013, there was little reason to believe hammering out a deal would take much effort. Mo takes a paycut from his $15 million salary from 2012, though perhaps the incentives would push the earnings up to around that mark. The 42-year-old is coming off surgery to repair a torn right ACL but is expected to be ready for spring training.
