Greg Holland took a loss for the Royals on Monday after giving up three runs in two-thirds of an inning against the Angels.
The Royals have several relievers jockeying for position with a potential Jonathan Broxton trade on the horizon, and Holland didn't help himself tonight. He was the Royals' most dominant reliever last year -- he was actually one of the league's most dominant relievers last year -- but he hasn't been quite the same this season after missing time early on with a stress reaction in his ribs. He entered tonight having pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings with nine strikeouts in his last five outings, but the poor night upped his ERA to 3.93. He's walked more batters in 37 innings this season (21) than he did in 60 innings last year (19).
