Fox signed a minor league contract with the Blue Jays on Friday that includes an invite to spring training, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reports. Fox hasn't seen major-league action since 2011 with the Orioles, when he played in 27 games. The 31-year-old infielder spent 2014 with Double-A Reading, posting a .308/.373/.591 batting line with 22 home runs and 70 RBI. He will look for an opportunity at making the Jays' big league club as a utility infielder, but faces an uphill battle with Edwin Encarnacion at first and Josh Donaldson at third. Still, he could nab a spot with a strong spring training.
