Despite just making his spring debut Monday, Sanchez may be ready to start the Tigers' second game of the season, MLive.com reports.

It appeared a couple weeks ago that Sanchez would not be ready for Opening Day, but there is now ample reason to believe he will be. He threw 54 pitches without issue Monday, and is set to make two more starts during the spring season. If he is able to build up to 90 pitches by the final outing, manager Brad Ausmus is planning to slot him into the rotation the day after Opening Day, Apr. 6. Expect a final call to be made following Sanchez's Mar. 31 outing.
