Davis retired the two hitters he faced, both via strikeout, to preserve a 1-0 Kansas City win over the Yankees on Friday night. The Royals' bullpen has been worked hard of late and Davis (one save, 0.72 ERA), who has been spectacular in a set-up role all season was given a chance to log his first save of the year. He'll primarily remain the set-up man for Greg Holland, but he is a viable option when Holland needs a breather.
