Colon was terrific Wednesday, throwing seven innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and no walks while striking out three and earning a no-decision against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Unfortunately for Colon, the Mets offense was unable to score more than two runs until the eighth inning, so he failed to earn what would have been his 13th win of the year. Colon's fastball sits in the high 80's and isn't blowing people away, as evidenced by his 106 strikeouts in 158.2 innings. Yet he's getting the job done, and now has a 3.35 ERA over 27 starts for the Mets in his age 43 season. He'll next take the hill against the Reds on Monday.
