Charlie Morton (elbow) is currently throwing from 75 feet off flat ground.
Morton, who underwent Tommy John surgery in mid-June, has been throwing for about a month now. The right-hander is hoping to throw bullpen sessions by January. Morton is a non-tender candidate this winter after making $2.445 million in 2012, though he's open to returning to the Pirates at a lesser rate. "I want to be a Pirate," he said. "We love it here." Even in a best-case scenario, Morton won't be of any use until the second half next season.
