Chacin has been roughed up in both of his outings so far this spring, surrendering five hits, two walks, and three runs over 3.2 innings. The Rockies probably won't let the spring results dictate Chacin's standing in the team's rotation, as he's virtually assured a spot so long as his health remains intact. He was undone by a bout of shoulder soreness last spring that contributed to a downturn in his velocity and resulted in him posting a 5.40 ERA and 42:28 K:BB ratio over 63.1 innings before he was shut down in late June. It doesn't seem like the zip on his pitches is all the way back just yet, but it's still too early in the spring for the Rockies to become overly concerned.
