Carl Pavano is working out in Arizona and about three weeks from beginning to throw off a mound. Pavano struggled mightily in 2012 with the Twins and then missed the entire 2013 season after suffering a ruptured spleen. He's likely to host a showcase for teams sometime in February and should be able to find a non-guaranteed minor league contract by the spring.
