Anthony Vasquez logged the first quality start of his career Sunday despite picking up a loss, holding the Royals to two runs on seven hits over six frames. He struck out a pair and hit a batter. It was easily Vasquez's best start since being promoted, but unfortunately for him, he was outdone by Everett Teaford in the unlikely pitcher's duel. The owner of a 7.29 ERA and 1.67 WHIP, Vasquez will start next weekend against the Rangers in a matchup where he should certainly be avoided.
