Davis was 2-for-4 on Monday night and hit his third homer.

The homer was the first for Davis in Oakland this year and also his first since returning from the DL 10 days ago. Now healthy, Davis will be the A's first baseman in almost every game when they face a right-handed pitcher and could be a nice play in daily leagues (or full-season leagues with daily moves) at a very cheap price on those days.

Davis is back in the lineup Thursday, batting seventh against Texas.

Davis sat out of Wednesday's game as the Rangers had lefty Wandy Rodriguez on the mound. He'll return to his spot at first base for Thursday's series finale and face right-hander Colby Lewis. Davis is batting .280 with two home runs against righties this season.

Davis is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Rangers.

Davis had played in every game since being activated from the DL on Friday, going 3-for-14 in that span, but will get the night off Wednesday against lefty Wandy Rodriguez. The A's will slide Stephen Vogt over to first base and use Billy Butler as the DH. Davis could return to the lineup Thursday when the A's face right-hander Colby Lewis.

Davis (quadriceps) was activated from the DL on Friday and will get the start at first base while hitting sixth against the Angels.

Davis has been out for more than a month with the quad injury, but now that he is healthy he should start to see somewhat regular starts at first base for the A's. Mark Canha and Stephen Vogt will also probably remain in the mix occasionally starting at first base, but Davis should play enough to be useful in mid-to-deeper sized leagues.

Davis (quad) could be activated as early as Friday, John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group reports.

Davis has been rehabbing at Triple-A Nashville, where he played Wednesday night. The A's have not yet made an official decision on when he'll join the team, but it sounds like there's a decent chance he could be recalled efore Friday's game against the Angels.

Davis (quadriceps) will play another game at Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday before going to Oakland where the Athletics will decide whether or not to activate him, Joe Stiglich of CSN California reports.

Wednesday was the early target date for Davis' return to the Athletics, but owners will have to wait at least another day for his activation from the disabled list. The decision on Davis' possible activation should come down before the end of the weekend.

Davis (quadriceps) will not be activated from the DL on Wednesday.

Wednesday seemed to be the tentative target date for Davis, but it seems the A's decided he could use a rest day after playing in back-to-back rehab games with Triple-A Nashville to start the week. The 28-year-old has played in four rehab games overall, going 4-for-16 with a double, three RBI and four strikeouts, after missing a month due to a Grade 2 quad strain. Davis figures to supplant Mark Canha as the primary option at first base upon activation.

Davis (quadriceps) is expected to come off the disabled list Wednesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Davis began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Nashville on Friday and has batted 2-for-7 with a double over his first two games. He'll likely stay in the field for another game or two before the Athletics bring him back aboard to assume regular duties at first base. Mark Canha and Max Muncy have seen the majority of duties at the position while Davis has been out.
