The Royals declined to tender Bueno a contract, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports.

Bueno simply wasn't worth keeping for the Royals, who have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to bullpen arms, even at his pre-arb price. The 33-year-old lefty posted a 4.18 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 20:7 K:BB in 32.1 innings with the big club in 2014.

After posting a rough 10.57 ERA in August, Bueno has opened September with three consecutive scoreless appearances.

Other than that brief rough patch, Herrera has been effective in middle relief for the Royals this season. If his August numbers were excluded, the 33-year-old lefty would have just a 2.25 ERA on the season. Nonetheless, Bueno remains too far down the pecking order for save opportunities to warrant much fantasy consideration.
