Maybin (back) remains out of the lineup Wednesday, Katie Strang of ESPN.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Maybin will sit out for the fourth day in a row while he continues to recover from his strained back. It's not clear when he will be ready to play again, but he will get at least one more day to rest and recover with the Tigers off Thursday. Tyler Collins will get the start in center field Wednesday for the second straight day.

Maybin (back) will sit for a second straight day Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

Dealing with a strained back, Maybin is considered just day-to-day with the issue. In his absence, the Tigers will trot Tyler Collins out to man center field, batting ninth.

Maybin (back) is not in the lineup Tuesday, making this the third day he has missed with a back strain.

EDGE Analysis

The Tigers were hoping that Maybin could avoid a DL stint, and he certainly still could, but missing a third day in a row could be a bad sign. Tyler Collins will replace Maybin in center field, and Jose Iglesias will bat in Maybin's usual second spot in the lineup.

Maybin, who is not in Monday's lineup, is considered day-to-day with a back strain, George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press reports.

EDGE Analysis

Maybin was held out of action Sunday, and he'll miss a second straight contest Monday while battling tightness and discomfort in his back. The Tigers will take a wait-and-see approach to the issue, and as of now the hope is that he'll only miss a few days and avoid a DL stint.

Maybin is out of the lineup Sunday against the White Sox.

EDGE Analysis

Maybin was actually on the field earlier in the day for when the Tigers and White Sox resumed play of Saturday's game, which was postponed with the score tied in the ninth inning due to rain. He officially finished that contest with two hits, two runs and two stolen bases across his four at-bats, marking another excellent performance for the outfielder. He'll be rewarded with a rest for Sunday's originally scheduled game, but could still be used a pinch-hitter or defensive replacement.

Maybin was hitting .322 with a .777 OPS in 208 at-bats heading into action Saturday.

EDGE Analysis

Maybin is having his best season in the majors this year and it's tied to a number of changes at the plate. His discipline at the dish has been a lot better than previously in his career -- Maybin's contact rate is the best ever and his strikeout rate is the lowest of his career. And his walk rate is much improved, too. Notably, Maybin is spraying the ball around the field much more than in the past and 2016 is the first time in his major-league career that he's punched the ball the opposite way at least 30 percent of the time. Maybin isn't the five-tool superstar he was projected to be back in 2006, but he's been a real catalyst in the Tigers' lineup.

Maybin went 2-for-3 with a walk and his 10th steal of the season in Sunday's loss to the Blue Jays.

EDGE Analysis

He was the only Tiger to have much success at the plate Sunday against R.A. Dickey. Maybin wraps up the first part of July hitting .264 (9-for-34) with two steals and a homer, but the home run is his only extra-base hit during that 10-game stretch.

Maybin is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rays.

EDGE Analysis

An 0-for-3 performance Saturday ended Maybin's seven-game hit streak, but even including the hitless performance, the outfielder has still been outstanding during that span, slashing .452/.500/.548 while collecting nine RBI and seven runs. He'll just be getting a routine maintenance day in the series finale, as Andrew Romine logs a rare start in center field.

Maybin went 3-for-4 with a steal, a walk, three runs and two RBI Friday at the Rays.

EDGE Analysis

Maybin opened the scoring for the Tigers by scoring in the fourth inning before extending the team's lead to three runs with his two-run single in the fifth inning of a game they'd win easily. He's now collected multiple hits in each of his last three contests, and he's slashing .369/.424/.436 on the year.
