Maybin has been scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Rockies, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Maybin has only missed one start in the last month, so he likely just felt a tweak he wasn't comfortable playing with. His usual backup Eury Perez will take over center field and bat second.

Maybin went 1-for-5 with a three-run homer in Wednesday's loss to the Brewers.

He has now hit safely in eight straight games to begin July, with five extra-base hits (two homers) over that span. The 28-year-old is having a career year in his first season with Atlanta, slashing .295/.362/.429 with eight home runs and 15 steals in 76 games to this point. Maybin is under team control for another two years, but there have been rumors that the Braves may at least look in to selling high on him at the deadline.

Maybin is not in the starting lineup against the Pirates on Friday night.

Maybin collected a hit in each of the three games against the Nats in the Braves' most recent series, but he'll yield the No. 2 spot in the order (and center field) to Eury Perez against Francisco Liriano and the Bucs on Friday night.

Maybin went 3-for-6 Saturday with a double, three RBI and his 11th stolen base of the season.

His single back up the middle off Carlos Torres in the 11th inning brought home two runs and sealed the win for the Braves. Maybin has been a revelation this season, slashing .303/.375/.421 while playing solid defense in center field, and if he can stay healthy for once he might finally deliver on the promise he showed as the 10th overall pick in 2005.

Maybin went 3-for-5 with an RBI, a stolen base, and a run scored in the Braves' loss to Pittsburgh on Friday night.

Working from the leadoff spot Friday, Maybin stayed hot Friday night en route to his fourth multi-hit game in his last five contests. For the season, he's showing a steady mix of on-base ability (.360 OBP), power (five homers), and speed (eight steals) while giving the Braves a quality defender in center field.

Maybin will lead off for the Braves on Friday against the Pirates.

Maybin returned to the lineup Thursday after two days off due to a minor groin issue, and went 3-for-5 at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored. He will now bat in the leadoff spot in the absence of Jace Peterson (hand), but it seems likely Peterson will return to his spot atop the order when healthy.

Maybin went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs Wednesday against Arizona.

He showed no ill effects from the groin issue that forced him to take a couple games off, smacking a trio of singles and showing no trouble coming around the bases. Now that he's feeling better, expect Maybin to return to everyday duties patrolling center field for Atlanta. He's not of much fantasy use outside of NL-only and deep mixed formats, but has been a solid asset in those settings.

Maybin (groin) is back in the lineup Wednesday.

After missing two days with the groin issue Maybin is back in center field and hitting second in the order. After a slow start he has emerged as a solid overall contributor, especially in deeper leagues.

Maybin (groin) remains out of the lineup Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.

Manager Fredi Gonzalez downplayed the groin issue, saying he anticipated just a one-day absence for Maybin, but the 28-year-old is now set to miss a second straight game. Perhaps the team is just playing it safe with Maybin, but owners will want to check back and confirm his status before deploying him Wednesday. Todd Cunningham will start in center field and bat eighth again Tuesday.

Maybin, who is not in the lineup Monday, has a slight quad or groin strain, per manager Fredi Gonzalez, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The Braves don't think the issue is anything serious, and Gonzalez said he's only anticipating a one-day absence. Maybin will be available as a pinch hitter, but he'd likely require a pinch runner, according to Gonzalez.
