Posey (shoulder) started at first base Thursday, going 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored in the spring training loss to Oakland.

Posey was removed from Wednesday's game with scapula discomfort, but it wasn't considered serious. The fact that he was back on the field the very next day shows that even the Giants' organization doesn't view this as anything to worry about. Ideally, we would like to see Posey handle a full game behind the plate, but the Giants appear to have dodged a bullet with their star catcher.

Posey was pulled early from Wednesday's game with minor scapula discomfort, but will be in the lineup at first base Thursday, CSN Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic reports.

Considering he will be back in the lineup Thursday, this does truly seem very minor. Still, it is something for owners to keep an eye on as the regular season approaches.

Posey is expected to see roughly 120 games behind the plate this season, CSN Bay Area reports.Assistant GM Bobby Evans stated that the plan is for Posey to play "120 behind the plate" and that he "wouldn't expect anything below that." Posey has averaged 115.3 games behind dish over the past three seasons, so we should expect more of the same in 2015. The Giants will move him over to first base regularly to keep their star slugger's legs fresh. Assuming good health, Posey will see 145-150 starts this season.

Posey is out of the lineup Friday against the Padres, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Posey will get a seat Friday following a 2-for-2 night at the plate Thursday with an RBI and two runs scored. Despite the Giants' loss Thursday, they managed to clinch a playoff spot with the loss by the Brewers. The clinching may have contributed to the decision to sit Posey on Friday.
