Phillips is not in the lineup Monday against the Brewers, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Phillips has started all 12 games thus far this season, so this appears to just be a regular day off for the 33-year-old. Kris Negron will fill in at second base, batting eighth in the order in his stead.

Phillips left Tuesday's game because he was feeling lightheaded after a collision with Starlin Castro.

He went in headfirst to second base and collided with Castro's legs. It is not clear if there were any concussion tests performed, or how serious the issue is, but he should be considered day-to-day for now.

Reds manager Bryan Price suggested Friday that Phillips will open the year as the team's No. 7 hitter, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The majority of Phillips' at-bats last year came in the No. 3 spot in the order (270 of 462), and he saw some opportunities there during spring training, but Price has evidently thought better of it and will instead slot his second baseman into the bottom-third of the order. While Phillips may have a hard time cracking 600 at-bats in the seventh spot, he should still have ample chances to do what he likes to do best -- drive in runs.

Phillips (groin) was able to return to the lineup Monday, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Following last year's collapse, Phillips has really dropped in ADP's so far. His current ADP in NFBC drafts is 260.99. No longer is he an automatic bet to hit 18 homers.

Phillips sat out Sunday's spring training game with a groin injury.

Reds manager Bryan Price spoke more about a handful of regulars sitting out Sunday rather than Phillips' injury specifically. "It just doesn't make sense at this point in time to run them out there," Price said of the players.

Phillips is 100 percent healthy according to his manager Bryan Price, John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Phillips has been fairly snakebitten the last few years and his 33 years of age and position don't alleviate that concern. It's good his manager believes in his ability to stay on the field and deliver value, but he's still a draft risk. He has hit .263/.308/.386 with 26 home runs and seven stolen bases in the last two seasons, which is still pretty decent for a second baseman but nowhere near his old peak as a 20-20 guy.

Phillips went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, two RBI and two runs scored against the Brewers on Thursday.

Phillips took the leadoff spot in the order for Thursday's game due to Billy Hamilton's concussion and took advantage of the opportunity. He is now hitting .263/.304/.372 with three games left on the regular season slate, but will likely miss double digit home runs for the first time as a Reds player, needing two in the final three games to reach the mark.
