Rizzo is out of the lineup Sunday against the Marlins.

Rizzo had started each of the Cubs' first 79 games at first base, but will rest Sunday in favor of Mike Baxter. Over his last eight games Rizzo is 3-for-28 at the dish, so a day off could help him right the ship.

Rizzo's power surge continued Sunday as he finished 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a pair of runs scored against the Twins.

After a slight dip in the power numbers, Rizzo has bounced back in his last five games, launching four home runs to go with six RBI and six runs scored. He had been contributing in other areas even before this hot stretch, as his 10 stolen bases, 43 RBI and .309 average will indicate, and is one of the top across-the-board producers in fantasy at the moment.

Rizzo was the entire offense for the Cubs on Friday, belting two solo homers in a 7-2 loss to the Twins.

The Cubs only had four hits Friday, though at least they limited themselves to just four strikeouts as well. Rizzo has 14 home runs on the season and is among the NL leaders in nearly every significant offensive category.

Rizzo went 2-for-4 with his 12th homer and two RBI in Wednesday's win over Cleveland.

He'd hit a little rough patch, going 0-for-17 over the last four games -- good for a 21-point drop in batting average -- but you can't keep Rizzo down for long. He's just too good.

Rizzo went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored Sunday against the Nationals, extending his hitting streak to 12 games.

The 25-year-old is now batting a cool .332 on the season and has added 33 runs scored to his already impressive fantasy resume. Rizzo has been a big part of the Cubs' resurgence and should continue to provide plenty of value in the middle of a talented lineup.

Rizzo was 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in a losing effort against the Nationals on Friday night.

One of baseball young guns, Rizzo has been relatively quiet lately - at least on the power front - but he now has 11 long ones to go with 34 RBI and a nifty .325 average. The Cubs are loaded with talented young position players, and Rizzo is right in the center of their rejuvenated offense.

Rizzo extended his hitting streak to nine games with a 2-for-4 performance against the Nationals on Thursday.

It's been a pretty thin hitting streak, as has just 11 hits and two RBI in that span. On the other hand, five of those hits have been doubles, and he also had a triple, and his 6:4 BB:K ratio during the streak indicates he's seeing the ball well.

Rizzo doubled, homered and drove in six runs Saturday in Arizona.

He'd been uncharacteristically quiet over the prior five games, going just 2-for-18, but bounced back with yet another big night. He's been one of the hardest outs in baseball this year, and it'd be no surprise whatsoever to see him blow past last season's stats in every category.

Rizzo went 2-for-3 Saturday with an RBI and his eighth stolen base of the season.

He's now got a nine game hitting streak, and Rizzo's slash line on the season is a robust .349/.469/.612. He's walking more than he's striking out (20:17 BB:K ratio) and stealing bases as often as he's hitting home runs. Rizzo seems intent on challenging Paul Goldschmidt's place as the NL's dominant fantasy first baseman.
