Ramirez went 4-for-5 with an RBI single, a double and two runs in Sunday's season-ending 6-4 victory over the Rangers.

It was Ramirez's fourth multi-hit effort since his first game with the Rays on Sept. 8 and he finishes the season with a .241/.277/.333 line that includes six homer and 48 RBI over 478 at-bats with San Diego and Tampa.

Ramirez went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer Tuesday in a 6-2 win over the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Ramirez's blast came in the fifth inning with the Rays down 2-0, turning the tide for the Rays against a Blue Jays team with a superior record. It was Ramirez's sixth homer and brought his batting average up to .241. He has 44 RBI and 34 runs scored in 431 at-bats on the year.

Ramirez signed with the Rays on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Matt Duffy missing the rest of the season, Ramirez will likely see frequent time at shortstop for the remainder of the year. He hasn't brought much value to the plate, as he owns a .240/.275/.330 line, well below his career mark of .270/.307/.393.

Ramirez was released by the Padres on Sunday, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ramirez had been a staple in the San Diego infield this season, appearing in 128 games and starting 105 of them at shortstop. He'll now get an opportunity to explore the free agent market, and could catch on with a contender looking to build infield depth.

Ramirez is not starting Sunday against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Adam Rosales will start at shortstop and hit eighth, giving Ramirez the day off. Ramirez is posting a poor .240 batting average for the season, but has gone 6-for-20 (.300) with a rare home run over the last seven games.

Ramirez is starting at shortstop and hitting leadoff Saturday against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Nick Noonan was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday, leaving Ramirez as the starting shortstop, at least until rosters expand in September. It has been a rough year for Ramirez, but for those looking for cheap counting stats at shortstop on the waiver wire, he makes for a serviceable option, especially if the trend of him leading off continues.

Ramirez, getting the start as the DH, went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran shortstop has found starts hard to come by since the trade deadline, starting just four games this month. However, Ramirez has a hit in each one of those starts, including two of his five home runs this season. The Padres have nothing to play for, which doesn't bode well for Ramirez's playing time, but if given the opportunity he may be able to provide a little pop from the shortstop position the rest of the season.

Ramirez may be at risk of losing playing time to the 22-year-old Jose Rondon in the short term, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ramirez is just one of the San Diego infielders whose playing time is at risk, but manager Andy Green has made it known that he plans to utilize Rondon as long as he is with the team. The Padres know what they're getting out of Ramirez, a nine-year veteran, but after clearly declaring as sellers leading up to Monday's trade deadline, the team now seems to be leaning towards evaluating their young talent. There hasn't been a clear indication whether or not Rondon is with the club to stay, but as long as he's on the 25-man roster, no infielder's playing time is 100 percent secure.
