Francisco Liriano struck out 11 Giants, yielding one run over seven innings to earn his third victory on Tuesday. In addition to his season-high punch out total, Liriano issued only one free pass and scattered four hits. The only one that really counted was Mike Morse's solo homer in the third, but Pittsburgh fortunately already held a 3-0 lead. Liriano was dominant from there on out, and Tony Watson and Mark Melancon pitched in an inning of shutout relief work apiece. The left-handed Liriano entered the game 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA in three starts since returning from the disabled list (oblique strain). Many owners jumped ship when he hit the shelf with a 1-6 record and 4.60 ERA last month. That just means there's room on board for the rest of us, who should make sure the former Twin is owned across formats. Liriano travels to Arizona on Sunday.
