Madison Bumgarner SP SF Apr 20 '13
Madison Bumgarner struck out 10 batters while allowing two runs in six innings Friday in a no-decision against the Padres.
It was the ninth double-digit strikeout game of his career. Bumgarner limited the Padres just four hits and didn't walk a batter. He had a shaky first inning, but retired 15 out of the next 16 batters he faced until he gave up a game-tying solo homer to Chase Headley with two outs in the sixth inning. The 24-year-old southpaw has allowed two runs or less in each of his first four starts and owns a quality 2.05 ERA and 27/7 K/BB ratio in 26 1/3 innings. If he can maintain his velocity for the entire season, he could finish as a top-15 starting pitcher in fantasy leagues.
