Martin Prado 2B/3B.. ARI Jan 24 '13

The Diamondbacks are "confident" they can work out a long-term extension with newly-acquired third baseman Martin Prado, according to CBS Sports' Danny Knobler.

The two sides have already had discussions about a new deal. Prado, who turned 29 years old in October, is currently scheduled to become a free agent after the 2013 season. He hit .301/.359/.438 with 10 homers, 70 RBI and 17 steals in 156 games last summer for the Braves and was moved Thursday in the seven-player Justin Upton trade. Prado is likely to be expensive.
