Blue Jays acquired INF/OF Emilio Bonifacio from the Marlins in a 12-player trade.
Bonifacio, 27, batted .258/.330/.316 with one home run, 11 RBI, 30 stolen bases and a .645 OPS in 64 games with the Marlins this season. He could be an option to start at second base, even though the Blue Jays recently added Maicer Izturis. Bonifacio earned $2.2 million this season and is arbitration-eligible for the second time this winter.
