Rays exercised RHP Fernando Rodney's $2.5 million club option.
Many questioned the Rays for signing Rodney last offseason, but his option now looks like a significant bargain. The 35-year-old right-hander posted an 0.60 ERA this season, the lowest ERA in major league history for a relief pitcher with at least 60 innings pitched. He recently won the AL Comeback Player of the Year Award and MLB's Delivery Man of the Year.
