Chris Davis belted his 30th homer of the season on Saturday, powering the Orioles to a 4-3 victory over the Red Sox.
The wins moves Baltimore into a tie with the Yankees for first place in the American League East. Davis finished the night 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI, and was also hit by a pitch. His two-run homer was a towering drive to right field off Felix Doubront in the fourth inning, increasing the Orioles' advantage to 3-0. The 26-year-old slugger is enjoying a tremendous season, now hitting .269/.325/.489 with 81 RBI.
