Charlie Morton (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery Thursday.
The surgery was deemed necessary after Morton suffered a setback in his rehab from right elbow inflammation. The 28-year-old right-hander will miss the rest of the season and will get a late start on the 2013 campaign. He could be a non-tender candidate this offseason.
