J. D. Drew RF BOS Mar 04 '12
Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that J.D. Drew would consider accepting a bench role for a team "if it were close to his Georgia home."
Many have assumed that Drew will retire, but his agent, Scott Boras, says his client hasn't made any such announcement. The 36-year-old batted just .222/.315/.302 in 2011 and appeared in only 81 games due to injuries, but he'd make a fine bench option for the Braves or another team if he's indeed willing to accept a minor role.
