Lackey gave up nine runs on 13 hits over five innings in a losing effort against the Orioles on Saturday night. He was clobbered early and often by the O's on Saturday, but hung around long enough to limit the strain on the St. Louis bullpen. Lackey had a 2-0 lead entering the bottom of the second inning, but yielded crooked numbers in three of the next four frames thanks to three Baltimore home runs. Lackey has an excellent matchup in his next start, a home date with the Padres on Thursday.
