Derek Holland (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco on Wednesday if he gets through a bullpen session Monday with no issues. Rangers general manager Jon Daniels admitted that the Rangers considered before the second half began shutting Holland down for the season, but they obviously decided against it. The lefty has been out all year following left knee surgery. He should rejoin the rotation in late August if all goes well. "You start thinking about what's most important," Daniels said. "With that being said, he has worked out so hard to come back. I think there is some benefit to him from a mental standpoint to see the light at the end of the tunnel."
