Mat Latos gave up five runs -- four earned -- in seven innings Monday in a loss to the Brewers. There's been no public concern expressed for Latos' elbow of late, but one imagines that the Reds would have had him start one of their first couple of games after the break if they hadn't believed he'd benefit from the extra rest. As is, he's had a couple of pretty mediocre starts his last two times out after three very strong outings previously. He's far from a sure thing in the second half.
