Albert Pujols made history on Tuesday, blasting his 499th and 500th home runs as the Angels defeated the Nationals 7-2. Pujols took Taylor Jordan deep for No. 499 in the first inning, a three-run blast. Then he became the 26th member of the 500 home run club with a two-run homer to left-center. Pujols, 34, is the third-youngest to join the fraternity. Pujols now leads the league with eight home runs on the season and is carrying a .274/.337/.619 line. Reports of his demise may have been greatly exaggerated.
