Hellickson signed a one-year, $4.275 million contract with the Diamondbacks on Friday to avoid arbitration, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports. Acquired by the Diamondbacks in November, Hellickson is on track for a prominent role in the rotation in 2015, with the club perhaps tabbing him for the Opening Day start. The 27-year-old cobbled together a pedestrian 4.52 ERA and 1.44 WHIP over his 13 starts with the Rays last season, and he may not be in line for much improvement due to the downgrade in his home park.
