Rodriguez (knee) will pitch in winter ball, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports. While the left-hander struggled mightily in six starts with the Pirates to begin the year (6.75 ERA, 1.69 WHIP), his troubles can likely be attributed at least in part to the knee issues. He had the knee surgically repaired in May, officially ending his season, but Rodriguez will be healthy enough to audition for teams this winter, as he looks to prove he can still be of some value to a major league club.
