Punto (hamstring) took batting practice Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. It's the first time Punto has taken batting practice since landing on the DL, and a rehab assignment may not be far for the utility infielder. He's been running at close to full strength over the last couple of days, so it wouldn't seem that he has many more benchmarks to hit before he's cleared for game action.
