Free agent MLB E.J. Henderson has lowered his financial expectations. Henderson is still shopping his wares in free agency, and is expected to receive some level of interest now that his financial situation is more realistic. Assuming he checks out physically, Henderson could be used as an insurance policy at middle linebacker, and is one of the higher profile names remaining on the free agent market.

Free agent MLB E.J. Henderson is "circulating word" that he's 100 percent healthy and wants to play. Henderson is coming off a 110-tackle season, but will be 32 next month and has dealt with knee issues lately. The Vikings have moved on to Jasper Brinkley as their starting middle 'backer.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the Vikings are not planning to use the franchise tag. Led by MLB E.J. Henderson and TE Visanthe Shiancoe, the Vikings have an unimpressive group of in-house free agents. ESPN 1500 Twin Cities reported in November that Henderson would be a "backup plan at best" this offseason. Shiancoe is expected to walk.

ESPN 1500 Twin Cities expects impending free agent E.J. Henderson to be a "backup plan at best" for the Vikings at middle linebacker in 2012. While Henderson is holding his own in run defense at age 31, he's been a liability in coverage this season. The rebuilding Vikings are expected to try to get younger in the middle of their defense next year.

Vikings MLB E.J. Henderson continues to deal with swelling in his knee and expects to play limited snaps in Week 4. "If I was being honest with myself, maybe when I looked at the tape, I could see myself hobbling a little bit," Henderson told reporters Friday. He's expected to play in a rotation with Xavier Adibi, who has better coverage skills for a linebacker. Henderson shouldn't be in IDP lineups this week.

Vikings MLB E.J. Henderson (knee) will be a game-time decision in Week 2. Though Henderson avoided structural damage after his in-practice injury, he's got swelling in the joint. The Vikings' run defense looks pretty shaky without DT Kevin Williams and Henderson either out or at less than 100 percent. Perhaps it's the matchup upgrade LeGarrette Blount needs for a bounce-back game.

Vikings MLB E.J. Henderson's X-rays reportedly showed no structural damage to his sore knee. The Vikings will see how the knee feels Friday morning and proceed accordingly. Henderson was held out of Thursday's practice after participating fully Wednesday, an obvious red flag. Xavier Adibi and Erin Henderson are candidates to fill in if he misses Sunday's game.

Vikings MLB E.J. Henderson has been sent for X-rays after a sore knee prevented him from practicing Thursday. It's concerning news after Henderson was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. With Henderson's primary backup Jasper Brinkley on injured reserve with a hip injury, Xavier Adibi and Erin Henderson took first-team reps in his absence Thursday. Hopefully he's only dealing with a sprain or bruise.
